The Pembrokeshire Sibling Group is a small local charity, (first started by professionals in 1997 but now run by volunteer Trustees), which gives support to brothers and sisters of people with disabilities.
We find it is often difficult for the siblings to undertake normal childhood activities because of the restrictions on the family in catering for the disabled child's needs. Our part time Coordinator plus some volunteers organise activities, residential and day trips and support for the siblings which in turn eases the parents' burdens.
The Pembrokeshire Sibling Group charity is currently funded by BBC Children In Need and Pembrokeshire County Council grant but is also dependent on donations and fundraising.
If you or your organisation would like to make a donation please contact us via our Contact Page.

The Siblings Committee received £1500, from the South Hook LNG Terminal Company Ltd, in response to a submission from one of the parents. It was presented to Shirley David in February 2008.
The money has been used to cover the production of a new leaflet (designed by the siblings) to give to other siblings. The funding is also available to cover the cost of reprinting our existing leaflet aimed at adults who might wish to refer a sibling to the group.
We held an event at Letterston Memorial Hall where the children came up with the text and some art work ideas for the leaflet.See the photo gallery for photos of the event and the costs of the event were also funded from the £1500.

Shirley David
